How to Make Homemade Apple Dumplings
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use a 9X13 pan.
Take two triangles of the cresent rolls and pinch the seams together. Then add about 2 slices of the apples pie filling. If desired, sprinkle cinnamon over the apples. Then fold over the dough and pinch the sides together, sealing completely. Repeat the process until all biscuit dough is used. Place the dumplings into the 9x13 pan. Pour liquid over dumplings and bake about 45 to 60 min until bubbly and golden brown. Let sit for 30 min. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired. - Preparing liquid mixture:
Melt 2/3 stick butter or margarine in saucepan.
Add 2/3 cup Splenda
Add 2 tsp cinnamon
Pour one can diet Sprite into pan and mix over low heat for just a few minutes. Be aware that the mixture will foam up when the Sprite is added.
