heavenly fruit cobbler
I wanted to make a cobbler with apple pie filling, but I had no baking powder or baking soda. Then I thought.....angel food cake and I used an easy cobbler and a meringue recipe as a guide to create rise to this Heavenly recipe. I hope you like it.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, unsalted
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 cups sweetened fruit or pie filling
- 2 egg whites, room temperature
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
How To Make heavenly fruit cobbler

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Put butter in baking dish and let it melt in the oven.

Step 3Mix together, flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and milk. Set aside.

Step 4In a clean dry bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat together egg whites and cream of tartar.

Step 5Slowly add the rest of the sugar to the egg mixture. About 1/2 teaspoon at a time and beat on high speed until soft peaks form.

Step 6Using the first mixture, stir it up a little. Then carefully fold in the egg mixture.

Step 7Add the batter to the baking dish with the melted butter. Do not stir.

Step 8Add your fruit evenly on top of the batter. Do not stir.

Step 9Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick close to the center and not in fruit, comes out clean.
