harvest time dessert

This is a recipe of my dearly departed mom's. I always liked it, especially since it has dates in it, which are a favorite of mine. It smells wonderful while baking. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream :) Once, I wanted to make this and found I was out of dates. I rummaged around and found some pitted prunes and substituted them and the result was equally delicious :)
