Ingredients For grilled strawberry shortcake

  • butter pound cake loaf, cut into 8 slices
  • 24 md
    strawberries with tops and tips sliced off
  • coconut water
  • granulated sugar

  • coconut cooking spray

How To Make grilled strawberry shortcake

  • Tips and ends cut off strawberries.
    Slice the tops and tips off of the strawberries.
  • Strawberries soaking in coconut water; skewers soaking in water.
    Soak strawberries in coconut water for 10 minutes. Soak wooden skewers in tap water for 10 minutes.
  • Pound cake cut into slices.
    Slice pound cake loaf into 8 slices.
  • Coating grill pan with coconut cooking spray.
    Heat a grill pan on medium heat for a few minutes. Spray with coconut cooking spray.
  • Toasting one side of the pound cake.
    Place 4 slices of pound cake on the grill. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes or until it has toasted grill marks (grill in batches as not to crowd the grill pan).
  • Toasting the other side of the pound cake.
    Flip and grill the other side for 2 to 3 minutes or until it has grill marks. Repeat and grill the other 4 slices.
  • Wiping crumbs off the grill pan.
    Turn off the grill and carefully wipe the crumbs off the grill.
  • Coating strawberries on a skewer with sugar.
    Put 6 strawberries on each skewer and roll the skewer in sugar.
  • Spraying pan with coconut oil spray.
    Heat the grill pan, again, for a few minutes and spray with coconut oil spray.
  • Strawberry skewers on the grill plan.
    Set the skewers on the grill pan and grill for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Flipping strawberries and grilling other side.
    Flip and grill the other side.
  • Letting the grilled strawberries cool.
    Carefully remove the hot strawberries from the grill pan. Let the skewers sit for a couple of minutes or until they are cool enough to handle.
  • Slicing the grilled strawberries.
    Remove the strawberries from the skewers and slice.
  • Strawberries placed over grilled pound cake.
    Serve 6 sliced warm strawberries on two slices of toasted pound cake.
  • Drizzling strawberry glaze over strawberries.
    Drizzle with a little of the strawberry glaze.
  • Whipped cream on top of the Grilled Strawberry Shortcake.
