  • 4 c
    peeled, sliced macintosh or honey crisp apples
  • 1/4 c
    orange juice
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • ·
    dash salt

How to Make GRANDMA'S APPLE BETTY

Step-by-Step

  1. Mound apples in buttered 9 inch pie plate. Sprinkle with orange juice.
  2. Combine sugar, flour, spices and salt in a medium bowl. Cut in butter till mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
  3. Bake at 375 dgrees for 45 minutes or till apples are tender and topping is crisp. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
