~ good ol' rhubarb cobbler ~

This is another dessert I enjoyed growing up. My Gram had her own rhubarb that she grew and she was always making rhubarb desserts. This one brings back many memories for me. My family loves it as much as I did...it's so darn good!!! Enjoy!!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups rhubarb, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup each - water and flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
  • BATTER
  • 1 1/2 cups biscuit mix
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

How To Make ~ good ol' rhubarb cobbler ~

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease a 9 x 13 casserole dish. Set aside. Slice rhubarb and place in a large bowl. To the rhubarb add water, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Mix well and pour evenly into the prepared casserole dish.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl, mix biscuit mix with milk. Pour evenly over the top of the rhubarb. Mix 1 tablespoon sugar and the 1/4 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  • Step 3
    Place in oven and bake for 40 minutes, then increase the temperature to 375 and bake 10 minutes longer.
  • Step 4
    Serve warm, with ice cream, whipped cream or without. We sometimes add some milk and eat it that way. Entirely up to you. Enjoy1
