Who doesn't like Cherry Pie? Our family loves it! Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and you're all set! This makes the perfect size dessert for a small gathering since it is made in an 8 x 8-inch baking pan.

Ingredients For glazed cherry pie squares

  • THE BATTER
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 lg
    eggs
  • 1/2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 21 OUNCE CAN OF CHERRY PIE FILLING
  • THE GLAZE
  • 1/2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk

How To Make glazed cherry pie squares

    Grease an 8 x 8-inch baking pan, set aside.

    In a large bowl cream butter and sugar, add eggs and both extracts, beat well. In another bowl whisk flour and salt together. Add to the butter mixture, mix until combined. The batter will be a bit thick.

    Spread 1 1/2 cups of the batter into the greased baking pan. Top with the cherry pie filling. From a spoon, drop remaining batter on top of the pie filling.

    Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until toothpick tests clean.

    When completely cooled, cut into squares. Mix glaze ingredients together and drizzle over cooled squares.
