Ingredients

  • 1/3 c
    corn flake crumbs
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    crystallized ginger, chopped or 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 6
    rome or mcintosh apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1.5 c
    frozen vanilla nonfat yogurt or vanilla ice milk

How to Make Ginger Apple Crisp

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Spray 8 inch square (1 1/2 quart) baking dish with non stick spray.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the cornflake crumbs, brown sugar, flour and ginger; mix well.
  4. Add in melted butter and mix well.
  5. Place apples in spray-coated dish.
  6. Add sugar and lemon juice; toss to coat.
  7. Sprinkle apples with crumb mixture; press gently.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until apples are tender and mixture is bubbly.
  9. Cool slightly; serve with frozen vanilla yogurt or ice milk.
