Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup corn flake crumbs
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons crystallized ginger, chopped or 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 6 - rome or mcintosh apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1.5 cups frozen vanilla nonfat yogurt or vanilla ice milk

How To Make ginger apple crisp

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Spray 8 inch square (1 1/2 quart) baking dish with non stick spray.
  • Step 3
    In a small bowl, combine the cornflake crumbs, brown sugar, flour and ginger; mix well.
  • Step 4
    Add in melted butter and mix well.
  • Step 5
    Place apples in spray-coated dish.
  • Step 6
    Add sugar and lemon juice; toss to coat.
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle apples with crumb mixture; press gently.
  • Step 8
    Bake for 25-30 minutes or until apples are tender and mixture is bubbly.
  • Step 9
    Cool slightly; serve with frozen vanilla yogurt or ice milk.
