Back when fruit pizzas first became popular, I decided to make one and I just tweaked my regular pizza crust recipe, not even realizing that usually fruit pizzas are made with a sugar cookie crust. We like it better this way!

How to Make Fruit Pizza

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine first five ingredients in a large mixing bowl, stir well then allow to stand for five minutes.
  2. Gradually add and knead in remaining flour until dough is no longer sticky. Place dough into a well oiled mxing bowl, and cover with a cloth. Allow dough to rise until doubled; approximately 1 hour.
  3. Gently punch down dough. Press into lightly greased pizza pan. Using a fork, gently stab all over the pizza dough (this prevents the dough from rising too much during baking). Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  4. Allow cream to soften to room temperature (or soften using a microwave). Mix in sugar (to taste) and vanilla. Spread over COOLED pizza crust.
  5. Top with sliced fruit of your choice. This fruit pizza is tastes best after it has been allowed to cool in the refrigerator for several hours.
