This recipe originates in an organizational recipe book that I received as a gift some years ago. Many of the recipes in that book have become kitchen staples. This one is especially good with outstanding fruit flavor.

Ingredients
- 4 cups diced fresh fruit (rhubarb, apples, cherries, blueberries. i have used frozen blueberries successfully.
- 1 cup flour, sifted
- 3/4 cup oatmeal
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make fruit crunch

Step 1Mix flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon together until crumbly in texture. Press half of crumb mixture into a greased 9-inch square pan. Add diced fresh fruit.

Step 2In a saucepan mix granulated sugar, water, cornstarch and vanilla. Cook syrup ingredients until thick and clear. Pour over fruit. Top with remaining crumbs.

Step 3Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
