Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • - pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 4 - banana
  • - peanut or corn oil for deep frying
  • 2 tablespoons clear honey, to serve

How To Make fried bananas

  • Step 1
Strain the flour into a large bowl with the baking soda and salt. Stir in the sugar, then whisk in the egg and enough of the water to make a smooth, thin batter. Whisk the sesame seeds into the batter.
  • Step 2
Peel the bananas and halve them lengthwise, then cut each one in half across the center. Heat the oil in a wok or deep heavy bottomed skillet to 350-375 or until a cube of bread browns in 30 seconds.
  • Step 3
Dip the banana pieces into the batter to coat, then deep-fry them in batches, until golden brown. Remove the fried bananas with a perforated spoon and drain on paper towels. Transfer to serving plates, drizzle with honey and serve.
