fresh peach cobbler

This is my very favorite summer dessert. I remember as a child, going with my parents to the peach stands and picking out the prettiest peaches...We always ate peaches on the way home and the juice would dribble down our chins...Those were the days...There are still plenty of stands all over the place and now is the time to pick up a few baskets and put them in your freezer...I hope you enjoy this recipe. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream....So very good. PUT A LITTLE SOUTH IN YOUR MOUTH....

Ingredients

  • 6 or 8 medium peaches, peeled and cut into thin slices
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, seperated
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

How To Make fresh peach cobbler

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel peaches and slice into small wedges.
  • Step 2
    Place peaches into a large baking dish. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the sugar on top of the peaches.
  • Step 3
    In another medium sized bowl, mix together all of the dry ingredients. Beat the egg and mix it in the dry ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle all over the peaches.
  • Step 4
    Drizzle the melted butter over the top and sprinkle with the cinnamon.
  • Step 5
    Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, and or whipped topping.
