I sometimes make this with cherry pie pilling or blueberry as well (don't put cinnamon in when using these variations of pie filling). Variation: Also good when you use 2 cans pie filling and a whole cake mix, whole stick of butter and more nuts and coconuts, placing in 13x9 baking dish. Bake a couple of minutes longer. enjoy..good with ice cream or whipped cream...

Ingredients For dump cake

  • 1 can
    apple pie filling
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2
    cake mix (dry)
  • 1/2
    stick butter melted
  • 1/3 c
    coconut
  • 1/4 c
    nuts (optional)
  • 1 can
    8 oz. can crushed pinapple

How To Make dump cake

  • 1
    Mix apple pie filling and cinnamon. Pour into greased oven safe dish (I use a round 8 nch pan)Spoon undrained pineapple over filling.

    Sprinkle with dry cake mix, coconut and nuts.

    Drizzle butter over the top. Bake for 40-45 min at 350 until top is golden and bubbly. In the last 5-10 min be careful because coconut and nuts can burn. I usually slip a piece of foil over the top lightly making sure that it is not touching the top of the cake... enjoy
