Ingredients
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup apple juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 4 - whole pears
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- 2 tablespoons orange zest
How To Make diabetic-friendly perfectly poached pears

Step 1In a small bowl, mix together orange juice, apple juice, ground cinnamon and nutmeg.

Step 2Stir ingredients until evenly mixed and set aside.

Step 3Peel pears, leaving the stems.

Step 4Remove the core from the bottom of the pear.

Step 5Place pears in a shallow sauce pan.

Step 6Pour juice mixture over pears into pan and set over medium-heat.

Step 7Simmer pears for 30 minutes, turning frequently.

Step 8DO NOT BRING LIQUID TO A BOIL!

Step 9Transfer pears to individual serving plates.

Step 10Garnish plates with raspberries and orange zest.
