My sister gave this recipe to me on one of my visits to Birmingham. I was raised in northern Alabama--I thought I had had apples every way possible--Well think again--My children want me to take this to every function we have--This is a MUST--So Easy.

Ingredients For dew the apples (dumplings)

  • 4
    granny smith apples (peeled, cored & quartered)
  • 2 pkg
    crescent rolls
  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 stick
    butter, melted
  • cinnamon
  • vanilla extract
  • 1-12oz can
    mountain dew

How To Make dew the apples (dumplings)

    Wrap each apple quarter in a crescent roll-place wide side down in 9x13 pan.

    Melt the butter then add sugar & vanilla.(do not cook) Pour mixture all over the crescent apples.

    Pour Mountain Dew over crescent apples & mixture. Sprinkle HEAVILY with Cinnamon.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot or cold--it doesn't matter ENJOY
