This is to be found as the Sunday dinner dessert in almost every Danish home during the apple season. The recipe is from my childhood home. You can use store bought apple sauce, but I prefer and always use homemade.

    sugar
  • 3
    slices of dry toast
  • 1 tsp
    butter

How to Make Danish Apple Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. First make the sweet bread crumbs. Take 3 slices very dry toast, crush it in a plastic bag. Pour ½ cup sugar in a skillet and 1 teaspoon butter and heat to melt. As soon as the sugar is melted reduce heat and pour the crumbs into the skillet and mix quickly then pour onto a baking sheet to cool.
  2. Wip the heavy cream and put in the fridge.
in a half gallon bowl cover the bottom with 1 cup applesauce, then crush 4 of the macros and add some of the crumbs, repeat layering and top with cold wipcream...mmmmmmmm
  3. Serve cold..
