This can be found on the internet. My cousin had the recipe but didn't bake and she wanted it for her birthday. I made it and now it's my go-to dessert. It's good served warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup 2% milk
  • 2 cups fresh, frozen (thawed) or canned fruit (drained)
  • 3/4 to 1 cups sugar (for sweetening the fruit)

How To Make creeping crust cobbler

  • Step 1
For Crust: Melt butter in a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate or a 8x8x2-inch baking dish in the oven. Remove and set aside. In a small bowl mix together the flour, sugar and baking powder, add the milk and mix well. Spoon mixture over the melted butter in pie plate; set aside.
  • Step 2
For Fruit Filling: In a small saucepan, mix sugar and fruit and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and spoon over the dough mixture. Don't just dump it in the middle, make sure to spread it around.
  • Step 3
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, or until crust is golden brown. Serve topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of sweetened whipped cream, if desired.
