cream cheese-stuffed pumpkin donut holes

My daughters recipe that I fell in love with. I love anything pumpkin, and especially w/ cream cheese, goes great w/ my coffee...yum!

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/2 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • dash cloves
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 cup pureed pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 - 8 oz pkg reduced-fat cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar

How To Make cream cheese-stuffed pumpkin donut holes

  • Step 1
    Fill a pot w/ oil, heat until hot enough to fry. In bowl, sift together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves.
  • Step 2
    In another bowl, whisk together pumpkin, egg and vanilla. Add to flour mix, just until combined. gather a spoonful of dough, and place a cube of cream cheese in center of dough. Cover the cream cheese fully w/ dough.
  • Step 3
    Repeat w/ dough and cream cheese. Gently place donut holes in batches in oil. Fry a few minutes each side. Drain on paper towels. In small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon and brown sugar. Roll donut holes in mix.
