Something different. Nice and refreshing with lemon and cranberries, walnuts or pecans. Nice in the fall for something different.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups quick cooking rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 can (16 oz) cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts

How To Make cranberry bars

  • Step 1
    In large mixing bowl stir together the flour oats, brown sugar, lemon peel and baking soda. Stir in margarine or butter, mix well. Reserve 1 cup for top. Pat remaining mix in ungreased 12x7x2" pan. Bake 350 df for 20 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Spread sauce atop of crust. Stir nuts into reserved mix, sprinkle on top cranberry sauce. Lightly pat oat mix into sauce. Bake 25-30 minutes more. Cool in pan. Makes 24 bars.
