Nice in the fall for something different.
1 1/2 cflour
1 1/2 cquick cooking rolled oats
3/4 cbrown sugar
1 tspfinely shredded lemon peel
1/4 tspbaking soda
3/4 cmargarine or butter
1 can(s)(16 oz) cranberry sauce
1/4 cfinely chopped pecans or walnuts
How to Make Cranberry Bars
- In large mixing bowl stir together the flour oats, brown sugar, lemon peel and baking soda. Stir in margarine or butter, mix well. Reserve 1 cup for top. Pat remaining mix in ungreased 12x7x2" pan.
Bake 350 df for 20 minutes.
- Spread sauce atop of crust. Stir nuts into reserved mix, sprinkle on top cranberry sauce. Lightly pat oat mix into sauce. Bake 25-30 minutes more. Cool in pan.
Makes 24 bars.
