This is a simple way to freeze up seasonal pears and then use later to make a yummy Country Fresh Pear Pie (see recipe in My Kitchen).

Ingredients

  • 4 quarts pears, peeled/sliced thick
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • - lemon juice
  • - quart size freezer bag

How To Make cooked fresh pears

  • Fresh pears to be peeled....
    Step 1
    Peel the fresh pears (about a dozen regular pears, a few more if using the harder, smaller cooking pears)...
  • Add lemon juice to the cooked drained pears while they are cooling...
    Step 2
    Take pears out of juice and cool separately. Add a few drops of lemon juice to pears will keep them from turning brown.
  • Quart of freshly cooked pears ready for the freezer...
    Step 3
    Put 3/4 pears to 1/4 juice in a quart size freezer bag and freeze to use for Country Fresh Pear Pie!
