I came up with this because I had apples in the fridge that were too soft for traditional baked apples.

  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 c
    whisky, red-hot cinnamon
  • 8 small
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 2 Tbsp
    apple pie spice
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, cold
  • ·
    vanilla ice cream

How to Make Cinnamon Baked Apples


  1. Pour whisky over raisins; let soak.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  3. Peel, core, and cut apples in eigths. Place in a 2-quart casserole dish.
  4. Sprinkle brown sugar and apple pie spice over apple mixture; mix well so apples are well coated.
  5. Pour whisky and raisins over apple mixture. Mix well.
  6. Cut butter into bits. Sprinkle randomly over apple mixture. Cover.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes (apples should be soft).
  8. Serve hot over vanilla ice cream.
