This is a recipe that has been in our family for years. I think it actually came off of the side of a cake mix.When Fall arrives this is one of the first things that is baked in my kitchen.

Ingredients For kitty’s apple crisp (one we always use)

  • 2 can
    21 oz @ comstock apples
  • 1 box
    duncan hines white cake mix
  • 1 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • whipped topping or vanilla ice cream

How To Make kitty’s apple crisp (one we always use)

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Arrange both cans of apples in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.

    Combine cake mix, brown sugar, melted butter and cinnamon. Stir til thoroughly blended. ( Mixture will be crumbly.)

    Sprinkle crumbly mixture over the apples. Bake for 50-55 minutes or til lightened browned and bubbly. Serve warm with whipped topping or ice cream.
