This recipe was given to me by one of my patients over 27 yrs ago. She asked if I liked to bake, at the time I said I was more of a cook than a baker. She said I have something that is only 5 ingrediants, quick and easy, homemade.. you'll love it!.. I did, and so did my family. I hope you enjoy it too **The recipe originaly had no name when she gave it to me, but when my family asked me to make it they always called it the cherry square thing.. and although I used blueberries from time to time they prefered the cherries.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (you can use a fruit pie filling)

How To Make cherry squares

  • Step 1
    Combine butter,sugar,flour and eggs together in a bowl
  • Step 2
    Spread 1/2 of the mixture in a greased 9x13 pan place pie filling over bottom, cover pie filling with remaining mixture in blotches (by dropping mixture with a spoon)
  • Step 3
    place in a preheated oven 350 degrees for 35minutes or until golden brown
