Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears
- 1/3 dash sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- fresh mint leaves
How To Make carmelized pears

Step 1Halve the pears and remove the cores. Place sugar on a plate.

Step 2Heat a large skillet with a lid over medium heat. Press the cut side of the pears into the sugar. Place them cut sides down into the skillet

Step 3Cook uncovered until sugared sides are browned about 7 or 8 minutes. Add the water into the skillet. Cover and simmer the pears until tender 5 to 10 minutes. Add more water if needed to keep the sugar from burning

Step 4Remove the pears and if the liquid in the pan is thin simmer until thickened. Serve the sauce over the pears and garnish with mint
