Ingredients For carmelized pears

  • 4
    ripe but firm pears
  • 1/3 dash
  • 1/2 c
  • fresh mint leaves

How To Make carmelized pears

  • 1
    Halve the pears and remove the cores. Place sugar on a plate.

    Heat a large skillet with a lid over medium heat. Press the cut side of the pears into the sugar. Place them cut sides down into the skillet
  • 3
    Cook uncovered until sugared sides are browned about 7 or 8 minutes. Add the water into the skillet. Cover and simmer the pears until tender 5 to 10 minutes. Add more water if needed to keep the sugar from burning
  • 4
    Remove the pears and if the liquid in the pan is thin simmer until thickened. Serve the sauce over the pears and garnish with mint
