caramelized banana tart
This is a yummy, super-simple company favorite. I found it in a Land O'Lakes recipe collection Best-Loved Recipes cookbook, c.2008 .. and have loved it ever since. Need I even mention the ice cream !!!!

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup pecan halves
- 3 large firm bananas
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/2 package frozen puff pastry, thawed (1 sheet)
How To Make caramelized banana tart

Step 1Heat oven to 425. (If using glass baking dish, reduce temp to 400.

Step 2Melt butter in 11x7 baking pan in oven. Sprinkle evenly with sugar. Top with pecans.

Step 3Cut bananas diagonally into slices. Place over sugar in pan, overlapping, if necessary. Drizzle with lemon juice.

Step 4Unfold thawed pastry ...stretch or roll slightly to fit pan. Place pastry over bananas. Tuck edges of pastry in around edges of filling.

Step 5Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and sauce is bubbly.

Step 6Loosen edges of pan with spatula .. and carefully invert onto serving platter. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm.

Step 7NOTE: Make sure thawed puff pastry sheet doesnot become warm or it may not rise properly. When rolling, work from center of sheet toward edges taking care to keep consistent thickness.
