Crockpot recipe. I have included the nutritional values.
Our favorite thing during the fall to eat is a caramel apple. eing a diabetic, my sister couldnt have them.
I found this recipe in a diabetic cook book and it is yummy.

4 large
tart apples, cored
1/2 c
apple juice
4 Tbsp
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
brown sugar substitute
hot cinnamon candies
4 Tbsp
light, soft tub margarine
caramel candies
1/4 tsp

How to Make Caramel Apples: DIABETIC FRIENDLY


  • 1Remove one half inch wide strip of peel off the top of each apple and place apples in crockpot.
    Pour apple juice over apples.
  • 2Fill the center of each apple with one T brown sugar, one quarter T brown sugar substitute, 3 hot cinnamon candies, one T margarine, and 2 caramels. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • 3Cook on low for four to six hors or until tender.
    Serve hot with juice from bottom of crockpot. You may add non fat whipped cream if you wish.
  • 4Nutritional values:
    calories: one hundred thirty
    fat: 3 grams
    carbs: 28 Grams
    fiber: 3 grams
    Sugars: 23 grams
