holiday peach cobbler

I made this recipe by tweaking my moms traditional cobbler recipe. I made it for her once, and she secretly confided in me that even she thought it was better than her own! My fiance, kids, and friends all give this one a "standing ovation." ;)

Ingredients

  • FILLING ...
  • 2 large cans peaches in heavy syrup, 1 can drained
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon, ground
  • TOPPING ...
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon, ground
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

How To Make holiday peach cobbler

  • Step 1
    Mix peaches (1 can drianed, 1 can with syrup) with 3/4 cup sugar and 1 table spoon ground cinnamon. Place in baking dish.
  • Step 2
    Combine flour, baking powder, salt, milk and remaining 3/4 cup sugar. Mix until just combined. Pour over peaches.
  • Step 3
    Pour melted butter over cobbler. Sprinkle 1 table spoon ground cinnamon on top.
  • Step 4
    Bake 45-50 minutes, until lightly browned and topping is cooked through. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream, or serve chilled with whipped cream.
