Ingredients
- 6 medium 6 pieces apples preferably granny smith or any tart variety
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 0.5 cup water
- 0.5 teaspoon red food coloring optional, for color
How To Make candy apples

Step 1Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Remove any stems and insert a wooden stick into each apple.

Step 2In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

Step 3Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. If using, add the red food coloring.

Step 4Quickly dip each apple into the hot candy mixture, twisting to coat evenly. Let any excess drip off.
