Ingredients

  • 2 - crust pastry dough
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 1 - egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening

How To Make butter tarts

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 425.
  • Step 2
    Roll out pastry dough. Cut into 4" rounds. Place in muffin cups.
  • Step 3
    Place raisins in cups.
  • Step 4
    Mix all other ingredients in bowl, then divide into cups.
  • Step 5
    Place muffin tin on bottom shelf of oven and cook 12-15 minutes until filling is set. Cool on wire racks.
