blueberry crescents
(1 RATING)
This was originally our favorite way to make Strawberry Shortcake, but only had blueberries last night. Next time, will try adding a little cinnamon to the sugar and apples from a can of pie filling.

Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1/2 pint fresh blueberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- - * optional *
- 1/2 pint fresh blueberries
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- - enough water to make a thin paste
How To Make blueberry crescents
-
Step 1Spray baking pan with cooking spray. Be prepared: these will stick more than regular crescent rolls.
-
Step 2Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar on a plate. Open crescents and seperate. Lightly press each triangle of dough into sugar, turning to coat both sides.
-
Step 3Place a tablespoon or so of blueberries onto what will be the inside of the finished crescent and roll up as usual, making sure to tuck in any wayward berries. Place on baking pan and bake as directed on package
-
Step 4Eat as-is for a nice, light breakfast, or for dessert...
-
Step 5Cook remaining berries with a little sugar, vanilla and water. Cool slightly, then puree in food processor. Return to pan and thicken with paste of water and cornstarch if desired.
-
Step 6Serve crescents topped with vanilla ice cream, fresh blueberries and sauce on top.
