In Berry season, we put up berries in the freezer, and on Cool evenings we enjoy goodies like this favorite dessert, in front of the Fire.

Ingredients
- PART 1 BLACKBERRY MIXTURE
- 3 pints ripe blackberries
- 3/4 cup - water
- 1 cup - sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter softened, no margine
- PART 2 DUMPLING BATTER
- 2 cup - flour
- 3 Tbs - sugar
- 1 Tsp - salt
- 3 1/2 Tsp - baking powder
- 1 - egg
- - milk to moisten batter
How To Make 'blackberry dumplings"

Step 1Combine all ingredients in Part 1 in large stove top pan, and set aside.

Step 2Sift all dry ingredients in part 2, into mixing bowl. Add: egg and mix well. Add enough milk to make a stiff batter and set aside.

Step 3Bring Blackberry Mixture to a boil. Drop Dumplings into batter, a Teaspoon at a time. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve with Whip cream, or Vanilla Ice cream.
