~ berry nice apple cranberry pecan bake ~

This dessert came to pass after having leftover cranberries and apples from the holidays. What an awesome dessert. Make sure to add a scoop of ice cream to the warm fruity deliciousness. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 - 12 ounces package, cranberries
  • 3 1/2 cups granny smith apples, peeled and chopped ( about 3 med - large apples)
  • TOPPING
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 5 1/2 tablespoons cold butter
  • pich - cinnamon - optional

How To Make ~ berry nice apple cranberry pecan bake ~

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease a 2 quart baking dish, it worked out great in my oval dish with sides about 2 inches high. Combine the sugar and cornstarch in a large bowl, toss with the apples and cranberries.
  • Step 2
    Spread the cranberry mixture evenly into the dish, making sure sugar mixture is equally distributed over fruit. In another bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, pecans, cinnamon and oats. Using a pastry blender, cut the butter in until crumbly mixture is formed. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the fruit.
  • Step 3
    Place in oven and bake for 45 - 50 minutes or until golden and bubbly and apples are tender.
  • Step 4
    Serve warm with ice cream. Delicious!
