Baked stuffed apples. I usually make these as is, but sometimes I'll wrap crescent roll dough around the apples to make an apple dumpling.

Ingredients
- 6 fig-filled bar cookies, crumbled (such as Fig Newtons)
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
- 6 large Rome apples, peeled and cored
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
How To Make baked apples with figs

Step 1Combine the first 3 ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well and let stand for 10 minutes.

Step 2Place the apples upright in an 11 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish. Spoon the cookie mixture evenly into each apple.

Step 3Combine the sugar, boiling water, and butter. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Stir in the orange rind. Pour the sugar mixture over the apples.

Step 4Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 45 to 50 minutes or until the apples are tender, basting frequently. Serve warm, with ice cream if desired.
