Ingredients
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, divided
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3-4 large apples
- 2 large pears
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
How To Make autumn fruit crisp

Step 1Preheat oven to 375ºF. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 2In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, oats, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Add butter and mix with a fork until crumbly.

Step 3In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, salt, nutmeg, remaining 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and cornstarch; set aside.

Step 4Peel, core, and slice apples and pears; add to a large bowl. Add lemon juice and walnuts. Mix in sugar mixture; gently stir to mix well.

Step 5Pour into prepared baking dish, spreading to level fruit.

Step 6Add flour mixture on top of fruit, and spread to cover evenly.

Step 7Bake uncovered until fruit is bubbly and topping is lightly brown, approx. 40 minutes.
