1Preheat oven at 350 degrees
1. Combine the flour, salt and sugar in a bowl and mix well. Add the butter and mix with a fork until crumbly. Add the egg and the vanilla, mixing well. Stir in the coconut and nuts.
22. Press about 3/4 of the mixture over the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking pan. Spread the preserves evenly over the coconut layer. Sprinkle the remaining coconut mixture over the top.
3Bake for 25 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool and cut into squares.
