apple tempura
Was making shrimp tempura for dinner...no desert! Tweaked my tempura recipe for apples and the rest is history! If you are not comfortable with the cayenne....leave it out. I find it gives just the right amount ZING!

Ingredients
- 2 medium apples
- 1 cup sugar cinnamon mixture
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper......... trust me on this ingredient
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup club soda
- 1 cup flour
How To Make apple tempura

Step 1Core apples and thinly slice.

Step 2Whisk flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, and cayenne.

Step 3Beat egg with 1/2 cup of cider & 1/2 cup of club soda; add to dry ingredients until just combined; refrigerate.

Step 4Pour 3 inches of canola oil into deep skillet or saucepan over med.- high heat. Make sure it's good and hot!

Step 5Dip slices into batter and fry until golden. Drain on paper towels; top with sugar cinnamon mixture. You an use powdered sugar in place of sugar cinnamon mixture.
