How to Make Apple Streusel Wonton Rolls

  1. Peel, core and chop apples into small peices. Add to a skillet with 2 tbs. of butter, 2 tbs. of brown sugar, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and pinch of nutmeg. Simmer on low heat with lid on for about 7-8 min. just until apples are very tender. I used Delicious Red Apples, but use your favorite baking apple.
  2. With a fork or pasta cutter mix together 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/4 c. room temp butter (not margarine), 1/3 c. flour and 2/3 c. crushed walnuts. You want a crumbly mixture.
  3. Once apples are tender and cool, add the amount you want in your wonton, the wontons I used were 8" ones and about 5 tbs. fit in each one. Seal the edge with egg wash. Once all are rolled, brush them with egg wash or olive oil or milk. Sprinkle or press streusel topping on top of each. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake 400° for about 12 min. I baked on the second to bottom rack for about 9 min. then placed on top rack for another 3-4 min. Baking time will vary from oven to oven.
Top with ice cream, cool whip or favorite topping and raisins.
