This is a fine recipe that I was fortunate enough to recieve from my sister-in-law, Patti, who is one of the very best cooks around!

Ingredients

  • ·
    for the crust:
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2/3 c
    shortening
  • 7 Tbsp
    cold water
  • ·
    for the filling:
  • 7
    medium apples, grated (peeled or unpeeled)
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    nutmeg
  • ·
    for the topping
  • 3/4 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter

How to Make Apple Pizza

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix the ingredients for the crust together and pat onto a round greased pizza stone or pan. Flute the edges.
  2. Spread the grated apples over the top of the crust. Mix the remaining filling ingredients together and sprinkle evenly over the apples.
  3. For the topping, mix together the flour and sugar. Cut in the butter and spread evenly over the apple topping.
  4. Bake in a 425 degree (preheated) oven for 20-25 minutes.
