apple nut crunch

These are great anytime. I like to make them in the Autumn and serve with hot spiced cider. Everyone who has tried these always ask for more and or the recipe..which is so simple.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups peeled, chopped, tart apples
  • 1/3 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup sugar, divided
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons butter, melted
  • 1 package refrigerated large flaky biscuits (17.3 oz)

How To Make apple nut crunch

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350^ In a large microwave safe bowl add apples,walnuts,raisins,3 T. Sugar,3/4 tsp. cinnamon, cloves,and flour. mix, nuke 1 minute. Stir and nuke another 2 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Flatten each biscuit into a 5" circle. Add remaining cinnamon and sugar together. Sprinkle circles. Top with 1/4 c. of apple mixture. Bring edges or biscuit up to enclose mixture; pinch edges to seal.
  • Step 3
    Place seam side down in ungreased muffin pan. Brush tops with melted butter; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mix. With a sharp knife cut an X in the top of each.
  • Step 4
    Bake for .18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool a few minutes before removing to a wire rack
