Ingredients
- CRUST
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup sweet butter cold sliced
- 1 - yolk egg, lightly beaten
- 2 - 3 tablespoons ice cold water
- APPLE AND CUSTARD FILING
- 5 -6 - apples, golden delicious, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
- 1-2 teaspoon lemon juice to prevent browning
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 3 - eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Step 1Heat oven to 350 degrees

Step 2Sprinkle apples with lemon juice to prevent browning

Step 3Mix together flour and sugar

Step 4cut in cold butter

Step 5sprinkle with enough water and mix until the dough forms into a ball

Step 6refrigerate 1 hour

Step 7Roll dough to fit your pan building up the sides

Step 8Place in a 10" spring form pan

Step 9Layer apple slices in a swirl pattern over dough

Step 10Wisk together eggs, cream and vanilla.

Step 11Pour over apples and bake 350 for 35 - 45 minutes until custard is set and apples are tender
