This dessert is best during the cold fall/winter days of the season. The smell of the apples and cinnamon will leave your kitchen and house smelling wonderful, and will make your family or guests think you worked hard. Serve this dish with vanilla ice cream to make it very special.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups chopped raw apples (use your favorite variety, granny smith is a good choice)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • TOPPING
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 - egg
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup melted butter

How To Make apple goodie

  • Step 1
    Combined apples, sugar and cinnamon. Place in a greased 9 x 9 or 8 x 8 dish.
  • Step 2
    Combine oats, brown sugar, egg, baking powder, flour and melted butter. Sprinkle over apple mixture.
  • Step 3
    Bake 1 hour at 300 degrees. During last 15 minutes, you can sprinkle 1/2 cup nuts over top. Serves 6.
