Ingredients

  • 2
    7 oz. bottles 7-up
  • 1 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 c
    butter
  • dash(es)
    vanilla
  • 1
    rolled pie crust
  • 4 medium
    fresh apples

How to Make Apple Dumplings

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook all ingredients, except pie crust and apples in a pan until sugar and butter is melted and then set aside. Cut sheet of pie crust in to 4 equal squares. Place an apple in center of each pie crust square. Put 2 tsp. sugar, a little cinnamon and a dab of butter in center of each apple. Bring corners of dough up over the apple.
  2. Place in baking dish large enough to accommodate the dumplings. Pour sauce over them and bake at 375 degrees for about 45-50 minutes or until apples are done. These may also be frozen.
  3. The caramel sauce is delicious and when you serve the apples, there is enough sauce on the bottom of the pan to spoon on top of dumplings.
