apple dumplings

Easy to make! I prepared this dish for a church gathering and have been asked to share my recipe several times. I hope you enjoy as much as we do!

Ingredients

  • 2 - granny smith apples - peeled/cut into 8 slices each
  • 2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can mt. dew or any other lemon/lime soda
  • - cinnamon to taste

How To Make apple dumplings

  • Step 1
    Preheat over to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Peel and cut each apple into 8 slices. Wrap each slice into 1 crescent roll. Place into a 9 x 13 baking dish
  • Step 3
    Melt butter - stir in sugar - add vanilla. Pour over the apples
  • Step 4
    Pour 1/2 to 3/4 of the Mt. Dew or other soda around the outside edges of the apples. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Enjoy!
