apple dumplings
Serve this with vanilla ice cream. This recipe could very easily be made for a diabetic, using Diet Sprite and Splenda.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
Who knew 1 large apple, a can of crescent roll dough, and a few basic ingredients would make a dessert for a crowd. This is a simple and fun recipe. Each dumpling holds a chunk of apple. The dumpling bakes firm around the apple and has a sugary cinnamon crunch outside. The addition of Sprite is clearly some sort of magic trick because the apples in this recipe cooked absolutely perfectly in just a short amount of time. Buttery and sweet, the sauce has a hint of cinnamon. We served this rich dessert with vanilla ice cream but they'd be delicious alone.
