Ingredients

  • 8 c
    sliced and peeled tart apples - i used granny smith
  • 2 1/2 c
    packed brown sugar, divided
  • 2 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    finely chopped walnuts, divided

How to Make Apple Walnut Dessert

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

    Place apples in a greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and the cinnamon.
  2. In a bowl, cream butter and remaining brown sugar. Add eggs.
  3. Stir in flour and 1/2 cup walnuts.
  4. Spread over apples.
  5. Sprinkle with the remaining walnuts. I also sprinkled with a tablespoon of granulated sugar.

    Bake for 45 - 55 minutes or until the apples are tender.
  6. Serve with ice cream if you so desire.
