The original recipe calls for a deep baking dish, which I do not use. The topping on this is much too good to limit it to a smaller area, so I have changed the pan size. I prefer a thinner layer of apple and more crisp. Also, when I make this I double the recipe for the topping. But this will also double your calories.

Ingredients
- 4 cups sliced tart apples, peeled
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make apple crisp

Step 1Lightly spray 9x13" glass baking pan with oil. Spread apples in pan and pour water over the apples.

Step 2Mix with a fork the dry ingredients and the softened butter. Spread mixture evenly over the apples.

Step 3Bake at 350* for 30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is brown. Serve warm or cooled with whipped topping or real cream.
