mum's apple crisp
I'm not a big fan of cooked apple, but I ate this whenever Mum made it.

Ingredients
- 4 medium tart cooking apples, sliced (4 cups) (granny smith, northern spy, mcintosh)
- 2/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup quick cooking oats (or old fashioned oats)
- 1/3 cup butter (or margarine) softened
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream (optional)
How To Make mum's apple crisp

Step 1Heat oven to 375ºF. Grease bottom and sides of square pan, 8x8x2 (or 2 qt. casserole). Arrange apples in pan.

Step 2Mix remaining ingredients except ice-cream. Sprinkle over apples.

Step 3Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Serve warm with ice-cream
