Mum's Apple Crisp
4 mediumtart cooking apples, sliced (4 cups) (granny smith, northern spy, mcintosh)
2/3 cbrown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 call purpose flour
1/2 cquick cooking oats (or old fashioned oats)
1/3 cbutter (or margarine) softened
3/4 tspground cinnamon
3/4 tspground nutmeg
1 scoop(s)vanilla ice cream (optional)
How to Make Mum's Apple Crisp
- Heat oven to 375ºF.
Grease bottom and sides of square pan, 8x8x2 (or 2 qt. casserole).
Arrange apples in pan.
- Mix remaining ingredients except ice-cream. Sprinkle over apples.
- Bake about 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and apples are tender. Serve warm with ice-cream
