This is my Mother's recipe. I have always loved it because I don't really like oatmeal in my crisp recipes. It's great this time of year to use the apples that are so plentiful and make the house smell wonderful! Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 6-8 - apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup water, cold
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
How To Make apple crisp

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8x8 pan with cooking spray.

Step 2Put the apple slices, white sugar, water and cinnamon in a saucepan and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes or until apples soften.

Step 3Cream together the butter, brown sugar, flour and baking powder until it forms medium size clumps of dough.

Step 4After apples are slightly softened and your topping mixed together, put the apples in the bottom of the greased pan and cover with the topping. Bake for about 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and you can see the apples bubble from below.
