This is a good anytime recipe, but definitely serve during the fall months, when these fruits are at their peak of freshness. Serve with brunch or have for dessert. Made some changes in original recipe (from Pampered Chef).

Ingredients

  • - "butter flavored" cooking spray
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, or diabetic substitute
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed or diabetic substitute
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour or unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 6 tablespoons butter or vegetarian alternative or spray top with "butter flavored" cooking spray

How To Make apple-cranberry crumble

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a shallow 2 quart baking dish, with cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    In prepared dish, combine apples, cranberries, and granulated sugar.
  • Step 3
    In medium bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, flour, and pecans. Sprinkle oat mixture over fruit. Dot, with butter.
  • Step 4
    Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until fruit is tender and topping is browned. Makes 6-8 servings.
