This was from a potluck dinner I attended back in 1978. Unfortunately, I don't remember who gave me the recipe.

Ingredients

4 c
apples (johnathan, rome, or granny smith)
1 c
flour
1/2 c
butter, room temperature
1 Tbsp
water
1/2 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c
cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 tsp
lemon juice, fresh
1/4 tsp
cinnamon, ground

How to Make Apple Cheese Crisp

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix water and lemon juice in an 8x8 baking pan. Arrange sliced apples in the dish
  • 2In a small mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, cinnamon. Cut butter into the mixture until crumbly. Toss shredded cheddar cheese in the mixture.
  • 3Sprinkle mixture over the apples and bake for 30 minutes @ 350F (until topping is brown and crispy)
