This was from a potluck dinner I attended back in 1978. Unfortunately, I don't remember who gave me the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 c
    apples (johnathan, rome, or granny smith)
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    butter, room temperature
  • 1 Tbsp
    water
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp
    lemon juice, fresh
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon, ground

How to Make Apple Cheese Crisp

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix water and lemon juice in an 8x8 baking pan. Arrange sliced apples in the dish
  2. In a small mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, cinnamon. Cut butter into the mixture until crumbly. Toss shredded cheddar cheese in the mixture.
  3. Sprinkle mixture over the apples and bake for 30 minutes @ 350F (until topping is brown and crispy)
