This was from a potluck dinner I attended back in 1978. Unfortunately, I don't remember who gave me the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups apples (johnathan, rome, or granny smith)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice, fresh
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, ground

How To Make apple cheese crisp

  • Step 1
    Mix water and lemon juice in an 8x8 baking pan. Arrange sliced apples in the dish
  • Step 2
    In a small mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, cinnamon. Cut butter into the mixture until crumbly. Toss shredded cheddar cheese in the mixture.
  • Step 3
    Sprinkle mixture over the apples and bake for 30 minutes @ 350F (until topping is brown and crispy)
